Angels vs Mariners (April 3): Best Bets & Prediction for Today's L.A.-Seattle Matchup cover

We know the deal with T-Mobile Park. It's a tough place to hit and a great place to pitch. It's no surprise the total here is set at 7.5 runs. According to Baseball Savant, T-Mobile Park ranks 28th in park factors for hitting, making it one of the biggest downgrades to offensive production in all of baseball.

But the real story here isn't just the ballpark — it's the splits, and they are fascinating.

The Orioles have had an overall disappointing season, but they actually rank second in baseball in weighted runs created plus against right-handed pitching at home. The problem? Pick them up and move them on the road, and they tumble all the way down to 21st. Now you're dropping them into one of the worst-hitting environments in baseball. That's a brutal combination for an offense that's already been inconsistent away from Camden Yards.

The Mariners flip the script entirely. Seattle ranks first in baseball in weighted runs created plus against right-handed pitching at home this season. And they're doing it at T-Mobile Park, one of the toughest places to hit in the sport. That number is going to look even more impressive when you factor in that Cal Raleigh and J.P. Crawford have both returned from the injured list this week. The Mariners are about to be rolling on all cylinders.

The splits are what really lock this in for me, and the personnel piece makes it even better.

The Mariners' left-handed mashers could have a field day against the right-handed Bradish. Dominic Canzone has been sensational this season in a strong-side platoon role, and his advanced metrics are eye-popping. According to Baseball Savant, he ranks in the 94th percentile in barrel rate, 87th percentile in hard-hit rate, and 96th percentile in expected slugging percentage. He has 10 home runs in 181 at-bats and is slugging .559 on the season. That is a dangerous hitter getting a favorable matchup at home in a park that — despite its pitcher-friendly reputation — clearly hasn't slowed this lineup down against righties.

Luke Raley has also revitalized his career in Seattle and adds another lefty threat to the mix. And with Cal Raleigh and J.P. Crawford both back from the injured list this week, this lineup is as complete as it's been all season.

Kyle Bradish has had a tough year, and the under-the-hood stuff is labeling him a league-average pitcher right now. George Kirby, meanwhile, is still an elitre ground-ball pitcher who also ranks 87th percentile in chase rate, so there is also some upside for him to collect some swings and misses.

I'm splitting a unit here — half on the moneyline, half on the run line to get some value.
