Plenty of baseball happens this evening so our analysts dove into the diamond and found their favorite MLB picks! We're on a nice little run, going 8-3 in our last 11 for +4.83 units, but like I've said all year, this is a LONG season. Let's continue to stay in the green with a couple of picks tonight that can be found next to a plus sign if you line shop (as you always should).

San Diego Padres vs. St. Louis Cardinals MLB Picks

- St. Louis Cardinals: RHP Dusty May (4-6, 4.21 ERA, 1.25 WHIP)

St. Louis have lost three of their last four, but they are scoring runs at will. They are fresh off of a six game winning streak, but in their last 10 games they have scored four, nine, eight, four, nine, seven, five, six, 10 and five runs, for an average of 6.7 runs per contest. The bats are firing on all cylinders. They hit .246 overall, .250 at home and have been hitting .277 during the month of June, which is good for fourth in the MLB.
And I'm all for fading Lucas Giolito, which we have the pleasure of doing tonight. He's only made five starts this year, but posts a 6.94 ERA and a 1.79 WHIP in three outings away from home. He might severely struggle at Busch Stadium tonight. Even if St. Louis loses, they should put up a fight on the offensive end, as they have in their last three, losing by just one run in each game.
Take Dusty May out of the equation, and look for these Cardinal bats to come alive at home, where they've won four straight for the fans, scoring 6.5 runs per game in those wins. I think they are more than capable of five tonight.
Colorado Rockies vs. Chicago Cubs MLB Picks
Shota Imanaga pitched five scoreless innings against the Rockies on Wednesday. Can he do so again tonight at Wrigley Field?

- Colorado Rockies: RHP Michael Lorenzen (2-8, 7.54 ERA, 1.90 WHIP)
- Chicago Cubs: LHP Shota Imanaga (4-6, 4.44 ERA, 1.06 WHIP)

We're backing the Cubbies to win by two at Wrigley Field over the terrible Rockies. Fade Michael Lorenzen. I'll admit, this guy's splits do get better on the road, but we'd expect that with him pitching at Coors every night. But his away splits… they still aren't good.
Lorenzen has a 6.68 ERA and a 1.72 WHIP in seven away starts. Now, he just shoved against the Cubs last week, giving up one earned run on two hits in five innings while striking out seven. This second time around, I trust the Cubbies to knock him around for more runs. Prior to that start, Lorenzen gave up three, five, six, two, seven and four earned runs in starts spanning from April to June. His last win was April 24.
The Rockies struggle to produce runs on the road unless they are playing in Las Vegas. Shota Imanaga already pitched five shutout innings against Colorado last week, allowing just two hits while also striking out seven. At Wrigley Field, I trust the home team's bats a whole lot more to back their pitcher.
