Happy Saturday, friends! Hope your day is off to a great start, and that we can make it better with a pair of plays on the diamond.

Below, I'll dish out a couple that stood out to me with my MLB best bets for Saturday, May 2.

MLB Best Bets for Saturday, May 2

Ryan Weathers

Orioles vs Yankees

I'm heading right back to the well with our first bet on the diamond today, targeting the New York Yankees on the run line once again after they came through Friday night with a 7-2 win.

At 1:35 PM ET, Ryan Weathers will take the mound and look to take advantage of a Baltimore Orioles lineup that's been fairly middling of late.

Against southpaws over the past two weeks, the Orioles own a 91 wRC+, .677 OPS and a .171 ISO.

Weathers has been rock solid so far. Through six starts, he carries a 3.21 ERA, 2.88 xFIP and a 23.4% strikeout-to-walk ratio.

There's plenty of confidence in Weathers, but even more in the offense backing him.

Since mid-April, the Bronx Bombers have lived up to the name, ranking sixth in ISO (.192) and 10th in wRC+ (110) against right-handed pitching.

They'll face Kyle Bradish, who through six starts owns a 4.20 ERA, 4.44 xERA and a 4.11 xFIP. More concerning is his .376 BABIP and a rate of five walks per nine innings.

You can't afford many vulnerabilities against this Yankees lineup, and Bradish has a few. Look for New York to roll again and cash a plus-money run line.

Bet: Yankees Run Line -1.5 (+125)

White Sox vs Padres

Sean Burke starts tonight for Chicago at Rate Field - Guardians White Sox Picks

The Chicago White Sox have been one of the better stories in baseball this season. They've won four of their past five games, including an 8-2 victory over the San Diego Padres on Friday night, and their offense is starting to click.

Over the past couple of weeks, the Sox rank third in both wRC+ (126) and OPS (.809) against right-handed pitching, while also sitting eighth in ISO (.184).

Today, they'll face Michael King, whose numbers haven't been as dominant to start the year compared to what we've seen in seasons past. To be fair, his 2.41 ERA is still terrific, but he's walking four batters per nine innings and owns a low 14% strikeout-to-walk ratio. Additionally, his 4.26 xFIP and 4.06 SIERA suggest he may not be pitching quite as effectively as that ERA indicates.

Those metrics aren't overly alarming, but they do point toward potential regression, and with the way the White Sox are swinging it, this could be a spot where that shows up.

Meanwhile, Sean Burke has taken a step forward to begin the 2026 campaign. The right-hander carries a 3.21 ERA and 3.58 FIP, along with a sub-10% HR/FB rate and a ground ball rate north of 40%. He's also done a strong job limiting hard contact (37.6%) and barrels (4%).

On the other side, the Padres' offense has cooled off over the past couple of weeks, posting a 98 wRC+, .695 OPS and a .146 ISO.

This plus-money price on the White Sox is simply too juicy, and arguably disrespectful. They may end up losing the game, and that wouldn't shock most people, but based on the price being offered, and how these players match up metrically – there's a case to be made for throwing some coin on Chicago.

Bet: White Sox Moneyline (+160)
