Blue Jays vs Angels: The pitching plan for Toronto remains murky, but it looks like Jose Urena will open with Eric Lauer following behind. That is music to Jorge Soler's ears. Both arms grade poorly, and Soler enters with elite metrics across the board.

Blue Jays vs Angels Best Bet
Plenty of confusion around who will be on the bump for the Toronto Blue Jays tonight in Los Angeles, but word is Jose Urena gets the ball, followed by Eric Lauer—who was originally expected to start. Regardless, I love Jorge Soler in this spot. He holds an elite rating against both pitchers, and both arms come with brutal track records.
When Soler is elite, his trends are outstanding. In 78 elite-rated games, he records a hit 72 percent of the time, goes over this prop 47 percent of the time, and leaves the yard in 20 percent of them. At home, the trends are even better: in 28 games, he has recorded a hit in 71 percent, gone over in 53 percent, and logged a double in 32 percent.
So far this season, Soler is batting .229 with six home runs, 13 RBIs, and a .731 OPS. Tonight, he faces what could be a two-arm setup, with both pitchers throwing the majority of their pitches below league average, per FanGraphs.
Ureña has posted an ERA above 3.80 every year since 2022—and even before that, he had rarely kept it below that mark. Similarly, Lauer has sported an ERA above 3.19 throughout his seven year career.
At +145, with how well Soler matches up and how strong his elite trends are, it is tough not to pull the trigger on his total bases.
