Misc.
Tomorrow, the most gluttonous glizzy gobblers in the galaxy will descend upon Coney Island for one of the greatest events on the annual calendar, the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest.
For the last two decades, the Goliath of glizzy gobbling has been Joey Chestnut, who took home his 17th Mustard Belt last year. After being banned from the 2024 competition, Chestnut returned to reclaim his crown from Patrick Bertoletti. And he did so in style by devouring 70.5 dogs, 24 more than Bertoletti, who managed only 46.5 a year after his total of 58 topped the charts.
The story is similar in the women's division, where Miki Sudo has been the top dog for more than a decade. Last year's win was her 11th in 11 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest appearances and her fourth in a row since missing the 2021 contest due to pregnancy.
Will Chestnut and Sudo destroy the competition once again? If a new winner emerges in either contest, it will be a major underdog. At Lucky Rebel and other top online sportsbooks, Chestnut is a heavy favorite over Bertoletti for the men's title and Sudo owns a similarly significant edge over Michelle Lesco, who won that 2021 contest when Sudo sat out.

Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest Predictions and Picks
Given that Sudo has never been beaten in this contest and Chestnut's lone loss in 18 appearances came 11 years ago (to Matt Stonie), it's unlikely we will see the belts change hands this year.
That said, I wouldn't advise putting any serious funds on either one of them, even if they do run away with victory.
However, there is some betting value elsewhere worth looking at.
Last year, Geoffrey Esper gobbled only 43.875 dogs as he finished fourth behind Chestnut, Bertoletti, and James Webb (45.5). But in the previous four years, Esper racked up totals of 50, 47.5, 49, and 53 as he finished second each of those years.
Based on his history, taking Esper to down over 45.3 dogs (evens at Lucky Rebel) represents solid value.
Another solid bet for your Nathan's Hot Dog Eating contest board is Sudo to go over 37.5 dogs (-120 at Lucky Rebel). She won with only 33 last year, with Lesco (22.75) and Domenica Dee (22.5) well in the distance. But as with Esper, history favors the over here, as Sudo has gone over 37.5 seven times in her 11 previous appearances.
If you want to tune in to see the great gathering of glizzy gobblers live, the women's contest will stream live on ESPN+ starting at 10:45 a.m., while the men's contest will simulcast on ESPN2 and ABC (as well as the ESPN app) starting at 12:30 p.m. ET. Better yet, if you want to see the two legends wolf wieners up close and personal, both Chestnut (12:30 p.m. ET, ESPN Unlimited and the ESPN app) and Sudo (11 a.m. ET, ESPN+ and the ESPN app) will each have an isolation feed.
