Their approval positions the casino content provider to enter Alberta's regulated online gaming market when it opens on July 13, 2026.

The conditional license allows Octoplay to complete the remaining regulatory requirements before supplying games to licensed operators. As a result, the company can prepare integrations and commercial partnerships ahead of launch while demonstrating compliance with Alberta's regulatory framework.

Octoplay Receives Conditional Supplier Approval from the AGLC

The AGLC granted Octoplay a conditional gaming supplier license ahead of Alberta's transition to a competitive online gaming market. Although the approval does not permit immediate operations, it clears an important regulatory hurdle before the province welcomes private operators.

To activate its license, Octoplay must satisfy the remaining compliance, technical, and operational requirements established by Alberta's regulator. The company can also continue working with prospective operator partners to ensure its games are ready when the market launches.

Martina Borg Stevens, Chief Legal Officer at Octoplay, welcomed the approval and highlighted the company's regulatory preparation.
