The latest figures showed that Michigan online casinos generated $303.4 million in gross revenue during April. That total represented a 22.3% increase compared to April 2025. Meanwhile, online sportsbooks reported higher betting activity as consumers continued wagering heavily throughout the month.

The April results reinforced Michigan's growing influence among regulated US online casinos and US online sportsbooks. Analysts also pointed to stable player engagement and strong operator partnerships as major drivers behind the market's continued expansion.

Michigan Online Casinos Continue Record-Level Momentum

In a report from the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB), Michigan online casinos once again delivered the strongest performance within the state's digital gambling sector during April 2026. 

Gross iGaming revenue reached approximately $303.4 million for the month. That total marked one of the market's best monthly performances since legalization began in 2021.

Year-over-year revenue increased by 22.3%, according to multiple industry reports. Although April narrowly missed March's all-time state record, operators still maintained exceptional momentum entering the second quarter.

Several major brands helped fuel the market's continued success. Operators connected to leading national gaming companies remained dominant throughout April. 

FanDuel Casino, BetMGM, and DraftKings continued ranking among the state's strongest performers. Their platforms benefited from established customer bases, aggressive promotions, and strong cross-platform engagement.

Online slots generated the majority of Michigan's iGaming revenue during the month. However, digital table games and live dealer offerings also continued attracting strong player activity. Industry analysts noted that Michigan consumers increasingly prefer online gaming convenience over traditional retail visits.

Additionally, regulated iGaming continued producing reliable tax revenue for the state. That consistency has become increasingly important as retail casino revenue fluctuates nationwide.

Michigan Online Sportsbooks See Betting Handle Rise Despite Revenue Dip

Michigan's online sportsbooks also reported healthy wagering activity during April 2026. Multiple reports note Michigan's statewide sports betting handle increased by 10.4% compared to the previous year.

The increase showed that bettors remained highly active despite the end of football season. Basketball, baseball, and playoff wagering helped sustain strong betting volume throughout April.

However, sportsbook revenue moved in the opposite direction. Michigan online sportsbooks generated $24.5 million in revenue during April, which represented an 8.7% year-over-year decline despite the higher betting handle.

The revenue decline largely stemmed from a lower operator hold percentage. Sportsbooks posted a 5.3% hold during April 2026, compared to 6.4% during the same month last year. Favorable outcomes for bettors reduced sportsbook profitability even as wagering volume increased.

Leading sportsbook brands such as FanDuel Sportsbook, DraftKings Sportsbook, and BetMGM Sportsbook still maintained strong market positions. Their mobile platforms and broad betting menus helped attract consistent wagering activity throughout the month.

Operators also benefited from increased customer retention between casino and sportsbook products. Many users continued moving seamlessly between digital casino games and sports wagering platforms.

Commercial and Tribal Partnerships Continue Strengthening Michigan Gambling

Michigan gambling has also benefited from strong partnerships between commercial casinos, tribal operators, and national sportsbook brands. Those partnerships helped establish one of the most competitive regulated gaming environments in the United States.

The state's framework allows tribal and commercial casino operators to partner with nationally recognized gambling brands. As a result, Michigan created a balanced market that supports competition while generating strong tax revenue.
