Kalshi has expanded its presence in Major League Baseball through exclusive partnerships with five teams. The prediction market operator announced the multi-year agreements on August 25.
The partnerships cover the Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, and San Francisco Giants. They will give Kalshi greater exposure across stadiums, digital platforms, social media and radio.
The move strengthens Kalshi's position in professional sports as prediction markets continue gaining attention. It also gives the company access to some of baseball's largest fan bases.
Kalshi Expands Its MLB Footprint
The agreements will feature Kalshi branding throughout the participating teams' marketing channels. Fans can expect in-stadium signage, online promotions, radio campaigns and other activations.
The Dodgers partnership includes one of the most prominent branding arrangements. The team's Gold Glove Bar will become the Kalshi 435 Club under the agreement.
Kalshi will also receive branded LED signage around Dodger Stadium. Fans will have access to exclusive offers and on-site activations in Centerfield Plaza.
Kalshi's head of sports partnerships, Adam Barrick, said the deals build on existing fan engagement with the platform:
"The idea is that fans are already engaging with their favourite teams on Kalshi, so it only makes sense to extend that fandom to some of the most beloved baseball teams in America."
Baseball Trading Activity Surges
The partnerships arrive as baseball activity on Kalshi continues to accelerate. The company said baseball-related trading volume has increased 36 times year over year.
That growth gives Kalshi a strong reason to expand its MLB marketing strategy. Meanwhile, fans can use the platform to assess probabilities tied to games and individual player performances.
For example, Kalshi recently listed probabilities for MLB picks involving game winners, home runs and strikeout totals. Such markets give the platform a different position from traditional US online sportsbooks.
Traditional sportsbooks typically present MLB odds alongside spreads, moneylines and player props. Kalshi instead frames its contracts around the probability of specific outcomes.
Seven MLB Teams Now Have Prediction Market Deals
Kalshi's five agreements also accelerate a wider prediction-market trend across MLB.
The New York Mets previously partnered with Novig in July. The New York Yankees then reached an agreement with Polymarket. Consequently, seven MLB teams now have partnerships with prediction-market operators.
That figure represents nearly one-quarter of MLB's 30 clubs. Kalshi's five partnerships alone cover roughly one-sixth of the league.
Polymarket also holds a separate league-level relationship with MLB. The company became the league's exclusive prediction market exchange partner before the regular season.
Kalshi, meanwhile, is reportedly discussing a separate partnership directly with MLB. That means its latest team agreements could precede an even broader commercial relationship.
Regulatory Questions Remain
Kalshi's MLB expansion comes while the company faces regulatory challenges across several states.
The company argues that its sports contracts are federally regulated financial products. State regulators and other industry groups instead argue that the contracts resemble sports betting.
That distinction remains particularly relevant for the Red Sox partnership. Kalshi does not currently offer sports event contracts in Massachusetts because of ongoing litigation.
The company's California partnerships also carry significance. The Dodgers, Padres and Giants operate in a state where traditional sports wagering remains illegal.
Still, Kalshi continues expanding its sports presence despite those legal challenges.
Kalshi Targets Baseball Fans
The five partnerships give Kalshi additional opportunities to promote its platform directly to MLB audiences. They also provide a marketing channel that differs from conventional sportsbook advertising.
As more fans follow MLB picks and compare MLB odds, prediction markets are seeking a larger role in baseball engagement.
Kalshi's latest agreements show that strategy is moving beyond its trading platform. The company now has its branding inside several major MLB ballparks.
At the same time, its reported discussions with MLB could determine whether that presence expands further. For now, the five-team agreements mark a significant step in Kalshi's push into professional baseball.
