Indiana Sports Betting Hits $384.2M in July 2026

industry

Indiana's sports betting market recorded another strong month in July 2026. The Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) reported $384.2 million in wagers.

That figure represented a 35% increase from July 2025. At the same time, wagering declined 4.8% from June's $403.4 million handle.

The monthly decline followed several months of elevated betting activity. Still, the annual increase highlights continued strength across Indiana gambling.

Indiana Sports Betting Grows 35% Year Over Year

According to the IGC, sportsbooks generated $384.2 million in July handle. The market's annual growth remained significant despite the monthly decline.

June produced a higher handle as major sporting events boosted wagering activity. July then brought a more typical summer betting environment.

Nevertheless, Indiana maintained substantial betting volume throughout the month. The results also demonstrate the continued popularity of regulated sports wagering.

For bettors comparing US online sportsbooks, Indiana provides another example of strong mobile betting demand. Meanwhile, mobile wagering continues to account for nearly all sports betting activity across the state.

Mobile Betting Continues to Lead the Market

Mobile sportsbooks generated approximately $377.6 million in July wagers. That represented roughly 98% of Indiana's total sports betting handle.

Retail sportsbooks generated the remaining $6.6 million. Although the retail market remained smaller, it posted stronger annual growth.

Retail wagering increased by approximately 52% year over year. Meanwhile, mobile betting handle rose by about 35%.

The figures show how heavily Indiana bettors rely on online platforms. They also reinforce mobile betting's central role in the state's regulated market.

DraftKings Retains Its Market Lead

DraftKings continued to lead Indiana's sportsbook market during July. The operator accepted approximately $137 million in wagers.

FanDuel followed with around $103.4 million in handle. Together, the two operators accounted for a substantial share of statewide wagering.

Their continued dominance reflects the competitive structure of Indiana's online betting market. Both brands have maintained strong positions since the state's sports betting launch.

Other licensed operators continued competing for the remaining market share. However, DraftKings and FanDuel remained well ahead of their rivals.

Parlays Account for Nearly 44% of Handle

Parlays represented another major feature of Indiana's July betting results. Bettors wagered approximately $168.4 million on parlay bets.

That figure represented about 43.9% of the state's total handle. Therefore, parlays remained the largest individual betting category during the month.

Major League Baseball generated approximately $66.4 million in wagers. Basketball followed with $28.4 million, while football produced $7.1 million.

The broader "Other" category accounted for another $113.8 million. That category includes sports such as tennis, golf, soccer and hockey.

Indiana Generates $40.1M in Sports Betting Revenue

The Indiana Gaming Commission reported approximately $40.1 million in adjusted gross revenue during July. The state applies a 9.5% tax rate to sports betting revenue.

Consequently, July generated approximately $3.8 million in state tax revenue. These proceeds contribute to Indiana's broader public revenue framework.

However, the revenue figure should not produce a conventional sportsbook hold calculation. Futures wagers can create timing differences between recorded wagers and payouts.

As a result, simply dividing revenue by handle can produce a misleading monthly percentage.

Indiana Sports Betting Heads Toward Football Season

Indiana's July results show that the market continues to expand annually. The 35% year-over-year handle increase provides the clearest sign of that momentum.

Meanwhile, the 4.8% monthly decline remains relatively modest after June's elevated activity. The upcoming NFL and NCAAF seasons could provide another significant boost to wagering volume.

Football traditionally attracts substantial betting interest across US online sportsbooks. Indiana operators will therefore enter the fall with strong market momentum.

Overall, July delivered another positive result for Indiana gambling. The IGC's figures show continued mobile dominance and substantial revenue generation.
