Colorado Gaming Revenue Has Strong Performance in July

Colorado's gaming market maintained its momentum in July 2026, with casino revenue reaching $103.2 million. The figure represented a 2.9% increase from July 2025, according to Colorado Department of Revenue data.

The casino results highlight continued strength across Colorado gambling, even as the state's sports betting market entered a quieter summer period. Sports betting remained an important part of the overall gaming industry, although July figures were not yet available in the latest published data.

Colorado Gaming: Sports Betting Remains a Major Market

Colorado's sports betting industry also remains a significant contributor to the state's broader gaming economy. Through June, operators had accepted more than $3 billion in wagers during 2026.

June produced a $426.1 million handle and $31.2 million in sports betting revenue. The handle declined 9.2% from May, while revenue dropped 30.1% month over month.

Still, the market remained ahead of its 2025 pace through June. Year-to-date handle reached approximately $3.08 billion, while revenue totaled $274.5 million.

The market also continues to rely heavily on mobile wagering. Colorado's online sportsbooks generated nearly all betting activity in recent monthly reports.

That trend keeps Colorado relevant among markets served by major US online sportsbooks. Meanwhile, operators face a changing regulatory environment.

Starting July 1, Colorado eliminated promotional deductions from the taxable sports betting revenue calculation. The change increased the effective tax burden for operators without raising the headline tax rate.

The state also introduced additional consumer protections in August. Those measures include a six-deposit daily limit and a ban on credit-card funding.

Colorado Casinos Deliver Another Strong Month

Slots continued to dominate Colorado's casino market during July. They generated $89.2 million, representing a 2.6% year-over-year increase.

Table games performed even better on a percentage basis. They generated $14.1 million, which marked a 4.5% annual increase.

Therefore, both major casino categories contributed to the overall revenue growth. Table games produced faster growth, while slots continued to generate most of the state's casino revenue.

Black Hawk remained Colorado's leading casino market during July. Casinos in the region generated approximately $78 million, up 2.5% year over year.

Slots increased 2.5% in Black Hawk, while table-game revenue climbed 2.3%. The region therefore continued to account for most of Colorado's commercial casino revenue.

Cripple Creek also delivered positive results during the month. Its casinos generated $18.1 million, representing a 2.8% increase from the previous year.

Table games provided the biggest boost in the region. Revenue from those games jumped 29.6% to $1.1 million, while slots increased 1.5% to $17 million.

Central City recorded the strongest percentage growth among Colorado's three major casino regions. Revenue reached $7.1 million, marking a 7.1% annual increase.

Colorado Gaming Market Shows Broad Strength

July's casino performance demonstrates that Colorado's gaming sector remains resilient during the summer months. All three major casino regions posted annual revenue increases.

Sports betting adds another major source of gaming activity, despite seasonal fluctuations in wagering. Consequently, Colorado continues to maintain a diverse regulated gaming market.

The July casino milestone also gives operators a positive start to the second half of 2026. As sports calendars become busier, betting activity could strengthen alongside continued casino demand.
