MLS

With the World Cup officially behind us, congratulations to Spain on lifting the trophy.

Now it's time to shift our focus back to club football.

We have a loaded MLS slate tonight, and we're only a few weeks away from Europe's top five leagues returning. In the meantime, we'll still have plenty of soccer action and betting content coming your way.

As always, thank you for the support and for following along with my daily scribbles.

Let's get into my favorite player props for tonight!

Evander (FC Cincinnati) To Score or Assist

If you joined us during the World Cup and are new to MLS, let me introduce you to one of the league's best players.

If you've been betting MLS for any length of time, though, you already know exactly who Evander is.

Everything Cincinnati do in attack runs through him.

He's second in MLS in combined goals and assists, trailing only Lionel Messi. Before the World Cup break, he had already produced nine goals and six assists in just 14 matches.

The underlying numbers are just as impressive.

Evander ranks second in the league in chances created at 3.2 per 90 minutes. He's also third in big chances created with 11, second in expected assists, and sits inside the league's top 15 in expected goals.

That's the profile I want when betting a score-or-assist market.

He's always looking to create, and he's never afraid to pull the trigger from distance. Honestly, he'll shoot from just about anywhere.

He's also Cincinnati's primary free-kick taker, giving him another path to cash this prop.

We don't get close to even money on Evander very often.

When we do, I think it's worth taking advantage regardless of the opponent.

Play: Evander To Score or Assist (-110)

Robert Lewandowski (Chicago Fire FC) Anytime Goalscorer

Robert Lewandowski is set to make his MLS debut in Miami!

All signs point to Robert Lewandowski making his MLS debut tonight in Miami.

Inter Miami are expected to be without both Lionel Messi and Rodrigo De Paul, and that's a significant loss.

Defending has been Miami's biggest weakness for years. Even with all of the attacking talent they've added, keeping goals out has remained an issue.

With Hugo Cuypers now headed to Monterrey, the No. 9 role belongs to Lewandowski.

I expect Chicago to lean on him immediately.

As always, wait for the starting lineups if your sportsbook doesn't void non-starters. Always check the house rules before placing player props.

Lewandowski has spent well over a decade proving he's one of the world's elite strikers.

Now he gets to lead a Chicago attack with creative players capable of supplying him quality chances.

I also don't think we'll be getting plus money on him for very long.

The market usually adjusts quickly when elite European stars arrive in MLS.

I'd rather get in early than chase shorter numbers a few weeks from now.

Antoine Griezmann (Orlando City) To Score or Assist

Antoine Griezmann is set to make his MLS debut in San Jose tonight!

Another European star is making the jump to MLS.

I have to say, if you haven't watched Orlando City's announcement video for Griezmann, click here. It's one of the coolest player reveals I've seen in a long time.

He's already looked comfortable in purple.

Griezmann has scored in both preseason friendlies and appears to be playing with a ton of confidence. More importantly, he looks like he's genuinely enjoying himself.

This won't be an easy road match against San Jose.

That said, the Earthquakes looked much more like last year's defensive team before the World Cup break.

After their hot start, they regressed defensively and conceded at least one goal in each of their final 10 matches before the tournament.

Orlando have enough attacking quality to take advantage.

Adding Griezmann only makes that front line more dangerous. His movement, vision, and creativity should create opportunities not only for himself but for everyone around him.

Like Lewandowski, I don't expect this number to last very long.

At +140, I think we're getting value before the books fully adjust.

Play: Antoine Griezmann To Score or Assist (+140)
