Jonas Kronwitter has secured his first PokerGO Tour title after winning Event #5 of the 2026 PGT PLO Series. The Austrian topped a field of 63 entries in the $10,500 Pot-Limit Omaha tournament for $201,600.

The victory also earned Kronwitter 202 PGT points and moved him into first place in the series standings. He had already reached the podium in Event #1 before adding two more cashes. As a result, the win capped a strong opening stretch at the PGT PLO Series.

Kronwitter Turns Another Deep Run Into a Title

Kronwitter entered Event #5 with plenty of momentum. He narrowly missed his first PGT title in Event #1 after finishing runner-up to Sam Soverel.

He then reached the money in Events #2 and #4. Those results gave him three cashes before Event #5, making his latest victory his fourth cash of the series.

The tournament attracted 63 entries and created a $630,000 prize pool. The field included several accomplished PLO tournament players, setting up a competitive route to the final stages.

Final Five Begin With Kronwitter in Control

Kronwitter started the final day as the chip leader among the remaining five players. Richard Gryko posed the biggest threat after building his stack during the late stages.

Gryko eliminated Youness Barakat in fifth place for $47,250. He then doubled through Kronwitter, briefly adding pressure to the chip leader.

However, Kronwitter quickly regained control. He eliminated Jeremy Druckman in fourth place after his set of eights beat Druckman's top two pair. Druckman collected $63,000 for his finish.

Jiyang Gan then finished third for $88,200. Gan briefly took the lead on the turn during his final hand against Kronwitter. However, Kronwitter completed a flush on the river and secured the elimination.

Kronwitter Defeats Gryko Heads-Up

The heads-up match began with Kronwitter holding more than twice Gryko's chips. The decisive confrontation arrived soon after.

Gryko held A♠ J♠ 8♣ 4♣, while Kronwitter had K♥ J♥ 8♠ 7♣. Both players connected with the J♣ 8♥ 4♦ flop, giving Gryko two-pair.

Kronwitter remained behind but held additional drawing possibilities with his connected cards. The turn and river ultimately gave him the winning hand.

The final pot secured Kronwitter the title and the $201,600 first-place prize. Gryko collected $126,000 for finishing runner-up and recorded his second consecutive second-place result at the series.

PGT PLO Series Race Tightens

Kronwitter's victory placed him atop the 2026 PGT PLO Series standings with three events remaining. Gryko sits second after collecting consecutive runner-up finishes.

The series champion will receive a $10,000 PGT Passport in addition to the points race distinction. Events #6 through #8 features another PLO tournament, a Mystery Bounty, and the $26,000 championship event.

For players following high-stakes tournament action beyond the live circuit, US online poker sites also provide another avenue for Pot-Limit Omaha competition. However, Kronwitter's latest result came on the live PGT stage.

With three events left, Kronwitter now has another opportunity to build on his breakthrough victory. His series title and four cashes have also strengthened his position in the PGT points race.
