Today’s NBA Prop Picks: Wednesday, January 19, 2022

Matt Wiesenfeld

Is it only Wednesday? There were just a couple of games in the NBA last night, so we took a little break on the NBA props. We did go 3-2 on MLK Day though, so hopefully, you padded your account and bet it all on the Rams.

We have a full schedule of NBA games tonight with 26 teams in action. Let’s keep adding to that winning record.

Here are the NBA props that look good this evening.

Top NBA Props for Wednesday, January 19

The NBA props listed below are from BetMGM.

NBA Prop Pick #1: Jaylen Brown Over 6.5 Rebounds (+112)

This is right at Brown’s seasonal average, so it caught my eye. I am always looking for situations like this in games with Charlotte, which is neither a good defensive nor strong rebounding team.

Brown has been over this total in the last two games and four of the last six. He and Jayson Tatum have been upping their all-around games as Boston leans hard on them to compete in the Eastern Conference.

NBA Prop Pick #2: Luka Doncic Over 24.5 Points (-110)

The last couple of times I have been on Luka it has been on a combo prop, and it has cashed. He is playing really well right now.

I like the Raptors to do a pretty good job on Doncic tonight as they have a number of wing defenders they can use on him. I also think they are going to put him at the line a fair number of times though and that is why I am hot on the points tonight.

I’m looking for something like a 30/7/7 game, not another triple-double, but the over on his points + rebounds + assists total (42.5) still does have value in this spot.

NBA Prop Pick #3: Anthony Edwards Over 21.5 Points (-110)

It is impressive the way that Edwards has improved his game across the board in year two, I just didn't see that coming. This point total is below his seasonal average, but I see it as very achievable against an Atlanta team that likes to play fast and is not strong defensively.

We have had good success with other Timberwolves in the prop market lately (Towns and Russell), but Edwards has quickly become a consistent contributor and reason why they are winning a lot more.

NBA Prop Pick #4: Cade Cunningham Over 17.5 Points (+100)

I don’t see Cunningham as ever a really big-time scorer in the league. He will have his games for sure, but he reminds me a lot of former Piston Grant Hill, but with better passing skills.

This one is all about the payoff and the opposition. Sometimes the rookie struggles with his shot but the Kings play no defense so he should feel very comfortable. This is a winnable game too and that helps. In the Pistons' last two wins he had 18 and 29 points.

NBA Prop Pick #5: Saddiq Bey Over 16.5 Points (+102)

Similar to Cunningham there is a lot to like with the Pistons in Sacramento tonight. This is a big above his season average, but I am not concerned given the opponent.

Bey has become very reliable in terms of getting his shots up and against the Kings, he is not going to be guarded very intensely. When the Kings and Pistons met in Detroit, he dropped 28 points on just 17 FG attempts. There is no reason for him to not have another really good game again tonight.
