Parx Gets Spotlight, Runs 2 Stakes on Monday’s Card

Monday's are slow in the horse racing world. Parx will take advantage of limited competition and run 2 stakes races on the April 25th card.

Monday Full Card Analysis

Parx Race 1

Post: 12:55 PM ET; Purse: $18,000 Claiming, 1 Mile 70 Yards on Dirt; Entries: 6

#6 TAYLOR'S BELLE (4-1) should be in the right spot early to give this horse a chance to get the job done.
#4 I'M THIRSTY (2-1) is in with a great chance based on the horse's class & power rating.
#2 PARTY IN THE SAND (5-1) is a major player in today's race edging the field in several key handicapping factors including speed & race flow.
#1 QUIET PLEASE (3-1) is proven as a good bet to at least hit the board under today's distance and surface conditions.

Parx Race 2

Post: 1:22 PM ET; Purse: $19,000 Maiden Claiming, 6 1/2 Furlongs on Dirt; Entries: 8

#7 WITHOUT A VIEW (9-2) merits consideration in this spot given edges in speed & stamina.
#8 ARDEAN (5-1) should be competitive today based on the horse's speed & form.
#5 DON'T TELL FRANKIE (4-1) looks competitive on paper.
#3 SPRINKLE THIS (5-2) is worth a look here given edges in connections & record at the distance.

Parx Race 3

Post: 1:49 PM ET; Purse: $42,000 Maiden Special Weight, 2 Furlongs on Dirt; Entries: 6

These two furlong races are really tough to handicap especially with only first time runners in the field.

#4 CHANCE OCCURRENCE (5-1) is a solid price and is probably the one I would want to bet.
#6 MY TRUE PASSION (3-1) has breeding to suggest this one will take well to the dirt. While this one will likely be a sprinter, no one breeds for 2 furlongs.
#2 CONDESCENDING (5-2) goes out for great connections.
#1 NOW ACT SURPRISED (9-2) could find the winner's circle as well especially if the rail is playing well in the first couple of races.

Parx Race 4

Post: 2:16 PM ET; Purse: $22,000 Claiming, 1 1/16 Miles on Dirt; Entries: 8

#1 FEARLESS FLY (4-1) has a great shot in the race given the speed & power rating.
#8 TELLER (3-1) could get a decent trip in this race and find the winner's circle.
#6 SAILOR AGAIN (8-1) should be close enough to the front to be dangerous in the late stages.
#2 JARLIAN (6-1) is worth a look here given edges in connections & pace numbers.

Post: 2:43 PM ET; Purse: $25,000 Maiden Claiming, 5 1/2 Furlongs on Dirt; Entries: 7

#7 MOUNTAIN LILLY (5-2) has a great shot in the race given the speed & class.
#4 LA REGALADA (3-1) is worth a look here given edges in record at the distance & breeding.
#5 OUTLINE (6-1) will likely have the stamina to outlast these in the final jumps of the race.
#3 CUP OF LIFE (9-2) has hit the board under these conditions in the past.

#2 SHIRLEY GREENE (8-1) is worth a look here given edges in connections & race flow.
#7 MALIBU ANTHEM (4-1) has connections that should have this one ready to run a good race.

#2 REX KWON DO (7-2) is a major player in today's race edging the field in several key handicapping factors including speed & power rating.
#3 MR SANDMAN (9-2) should be competitive today based on the horse's speed & form.
#7 ALLEVARE (3-1) is worth a look here given edges in connections & record at the distance.
#5 BLACK LIGHT (6-1) looks to have to have kept the best company in the previous starts.

#5 OWEN'S PLEASURE (7-2) should be competitive based on the overall power rating which has it tops in the group.
#1 TILSA (8-1) is in good enough form to think this one can outrun the odds.

#6 CINNABUNNY (7-2) is worth a look here given the connections that send this one out.
#5 PHILADELPHIA BELLE (5-1) is a bit of hunch play at the former Philadelphia Park, but this one could surprise with a solid record at the 7 furlong distance.
