The big story out of Gulfstream Park this week is the Fountain of Youth. The Kentucky Derby prep race is the 2nd at Gulfstream and is the lead up to the Florida Derby.
Lackluster Derby Preps
Excitement has been building as the Road to the Kentucky Derby has been heating up. However, the performances in recent races like the Risen Star and the Rebel have left a Derby field badly in need of a superstar.
Hopefully that all changes this weekend when 2 year old champion Forte returns the track for a run in Saturday’s Fountain of Youth at Gulfstream Park. A win in the race would almost assuredly make him the lone front runner in the future pools.
Derby Prep Coverage
Along with every card from Gulfstream Park this weekend, Betting News will bring coverage of all 4 Derby Preps this weekend.
- Fountain of Youth (Gulfstream Park)
- Gotham (Aqueduct)
- San Felipe (Santa Anita)
- John Battaglia (Turfway Park)
