Belmont Park Hosts Stakes Quintent on Saturday’s Card

A week ahead of the Preakness Stakes, Belmont Park hosts 5 stakes races. The Peter Pan and the Beaugay Stakes are the card's two feature races.

Belmont Park Race 1

Post: 1:00 PM ET; Purse: $75,000 Maiden Special Weight, 6 Furlongs on Dirt; Entries: 9

#3 EMINENCY (7-2) looks tough to beat here given the edge in a number of key categories including speed & class.
#6 DEVIL BOY (5-2) should be competitive today based on the horse's speed & breeding.
#1 CONQUIST (9-2) is proven as a good bet to at least hit the board under today's distance and surface conditions.
#2 SAFALOW'S MISSION (8-1) looks to have to have kept really good company in the previous starts.

Belmont Park Race 2

Post: 1:34 PM ET; Purse: $45,000 Claiming, 6 Furlongs on Turf; Entries: 10

#1 STANHOPE (5-2) should be competitive today based on the horse's speed & early pace numbers.
#2 RING OF FIRE (2-1) is a turf sprint specialist who will be dangerous from the inside draw.
#7 STANDUP (7-2) wouldn't be a huge surprise in the winner's circle.
#4 SECRET RULES (4-5) is a worthy favorite, but 4-5 seems way too short in these chaotic turf sprints.

Post: 2:05 PM ET; Purse: $150,000 Vagrancy H., 6 1/2 Furlongs on Dirt; Entries: 5

#5 BELLA SOFIA (4-5) has a great shot in the race given the speed & class.
#4 MISS BRAZIL (3-1) merits consideration in this spot given the edge in stamina which could be crucial at the 6 1/2 furlong distance.
#3 KEPT WAITING (5-1) should be in the right spot early to give this horse a chance to get the job done.
#2 FRANK'S ROCKETTE (3-1) has to be respected based on the connections.

#12 FREEDOMOFTHEPRESS (9-2) merits consideration in this spot given edges in stamina & form.
#8 MISS DELICIOUS (3-1) has to be respected in this field given the edge in a number of key categories including top connections & pace numbers.
#2 MISSING LINK (4-1) is a major player based on speed figures.
#4 GENTLE ANNIE (5-2) has a shot in this field though I don't get the favoritism on this runner.

#1 CHATEAU (5-2) looks tough to beat here given the edge in a number of key categories including speed & class.
#6 MR PHIL (6-1) should be competitive today based on the horse's early pace numbers.
#3 REPO ROCKS (3-1) should be competitive today based on the horse's record at the distance. This one is in great form recently as well.
#5 OFFICIATING (4-1) is another who really loves these dirt sprints.

Belmont Park Race 6

Post: 3:39 PM ET; Purse: $92,000 Allowance, 1 Mile on Turf; Entries: 11

#1 JOIN THE DOTS (3-1) comes into the race signaling a big performance in the near future.
#6 NAKED ON THE BEACH (8-1) should be in the right spot early to give this horse a chance to get the job done.
#8 MISS BELLA CIAO (6-1) merits consideration in this spot given edges in stamina & class.
#10 CAIRONI (5-1) is a major player based on speed figures.

Post: 4:12 PM ET; Purse: $85,000 Allowance Optional Claiming, 7 Furlongs on Dirt; Entries: 10

#9 SEVEN LILIES (5-2) is worth a look in this spot given edges in stamina & connections.
#1 JEMOGRAPHY (4-1) looks to have to have kept the best company in the previous starts.
#1A SAINT SELBY (4-1) looks like a strong prospect edging the field in several key handicapping factors including record at the distance & power rating.
#7 BRONX BOMBER (6-1) is a fringe player who is in with a chance today.

Belmont Park Race 8

Post: 4:46 PM ET; Purse: $700,000 Man o' War S., 1 3/8 Miles on Turf; Entries: 6

#2 GUFO (7-5) has to be respected in this field given the edge in a number of key categories including top connections & class.
#3 YIBIR (1-1) is another classy horse with speed figures to match. This one is a definite player here.
#4 ABAAN (9-2) seems a cut below the top 2 but should be competitive.
#6 SO HIGH (30-1) may find himself in the perfect spot to outrun his odds in this race.

Post: 5:19 PM ET; Purse: $200,000 Peter Pan S., 1 1/8 Miles on Dirt; Entries: 8

#2 ELECTABILITY (7-2) has a great shot in the race given the the connections and superior class.
#4 WE THE PEOPLE (3-1) has races in the past performances that will be good enough to win here.
#6 WESTERN RIVER (6-1) should be competitive based on the overall power rating which has it tops in the group.
#5 GOLDEN GLIDER (4-1) should be competitive today based on the horse's speed & form.

Post: 5:50 PM ET; Purse: $150,000 Beaugay S., 1 1/16 Miles on Turf; Entries: 7

#2 LEMISTA (5-2) is in great form and has the top speed figures in the group.
#4 PLUM ALI (6-1) is in with a great chance based on the horse's record at the distance & pace numbers.
#7 OUR FLASH DRIVE (15-1) looks like a threat to outrun the odds in this spot..
#1 ROUGIR (1-1) is worth a look here given edges in stamina & power rating. The price is tough to take on this one when there are others I prefer.
