<p>Fresh off of a big Monday Night football loss, the Washington Commanders travel across the country to take on the surging San Fransisco 49ers in a Christmas Eve NFC showdown.</p>
<p>Get your eggnog ready as I break down this game and give you my prediction and my favorite player prop that are worth a look!</p>

<h2 id="9h8ip">A Controversial Loss</h2>
<p>The Commanders were oh so close to forcing overtime on Monday Night football late against their division rival, the New York Giants.</p>
<p>A controversial alignment penalty on what would have been the game-tying touchdown forced the Commanders to try again and that play ended with a no call on a defensive pass-interference in the end zone.</p>

<p>A tough break to lose the game but in reality the Commanders were dominated on offense by a great performance by the Giants and unluckily for them, they get one of the best units in football this week in the Niners.</p>
<p>This game is a must-win at this point for the Commanders if they want to stay firmly in the Wild card picture and pick up a valuable NFC win.</p>
<h2 id="b4jc5">Is Brock Purdy Legit?</h2>
<p>This is the question alot of 49er fans are asking themselves right now, as Brock Purdy has come in for the injured Jimmy Garopollo and has led them to 2 straight NFC wins, the last of which clinched the Niners the NFC West.</p>
<p>Purdy has been great the past 2 games and only time will tell if he is the real deal but he is doing everything right so far. He isn’t doing it without help ofcourse, as RB Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle have been sensational the past 2 weeks as well.</p>
<p>The Niners success all stems from their excellent defense and that will be a big theme in this game, as the Commanders struggled to protect Taylor Heinicke all game long against the Giants.</p>
<p>NIck Bosa and Co. will be watching that tape and licking their lips at the opportunities they will have on Saturday.</p>
<p>In a battle of two teams with plenty to play for in the last 3 weeks of the season, who will come out on top of this one?</p>

<p>I do believe the Niners are the better overall team here, maybe one of the best teams in football.</p>
<p>But the Commanders have almost gotten to desperation mode as they need to pick up as many wins as they can in the final 3 weeks of the season.</p>
<p>With the division locked up and only seeding to play for, I could see the Niners taking their foot a little bit off the gas peddle for this one and allow the Commanders to hang around and keep this one close.</p>
<p>Give me the Commanders and the points to stay around and maybe even flirt with winning this one outright.</p>
