<p>After bringing in Nneka Ogwumike and Skylar Diggins-Smith, the Seattle Storm were expected to make a big splash early this season. Instead, they sit at 0-2 ahead of this afternoon&#8217;s road matchup with the Washington Mystics, who also sit at 0-2.</p>
<p>With 38 regular season games still to come, it is far too early for the Storm to be too concerned after opening the season with losses to the Minnesota Lynx.</p>
<p>Still, it is an important game for Seattle, who won&#8217;t have an opportunity to get much rest. Tomorrow night, they will visit Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu, and the New York Liberty (7:00 pm ET, ESPN3).</p>
<p>The Mystics were expected to struggle this season, and wins may indeed be hard to come by. But after being very competitive in losses to two one of the WNBA&#8217;s best teams, Washington will be eyeing nothing less than a win at Entertainment and Sports Arena.</p>

<p>Are the Storm in serious trouble today?</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">They just might be. In their season opener, the Mystics held a 69-61 lead in the fourth quarter against the visiting New York Liberty. They couldn&#8217;t keep that lead, however, as New York went on a 20-5 run to take a lead they would not cough up in an 85-80 win.</p>
<p>Friday&#8217;s road game against the Connecticut Sun proved to be another missed opportunity for Washington. They led 62-56 in the fourth, then gave up a 15-0 run as the Sun turned things around for an 84-77 victory.</p>
<p>Those are two disappointing finishes, but they also indicate that the Mystics have what it takes to hang with the Storm, especially when Seattle is still trying to get things figured out.</p>
<p>Is today the day that they start figuring it out? A big step would be for Jewell Loyd to find her shot. In the first two games, she made just 7 of 40 shots. In Tuesday&#8217;s opener at home, she made just 3 of 19 shots and scored only 10 points. She doubled her scoring tally in Friday&#8217;s game in Minneapolis, but half of it came from the foul line as she made only 4 of 21 shots.</p>
<p>Last season&#8217;s scoring champion should make some shots today, but will it be in Seattle&#8217;s first win of the season? There&#8217;s a lot to like about what the Mystics showed against the Liberty and Sun, and I can&#8217;t help but gravitate to the outright upset here.</p>
