<p>Now that the Las Vegas Aces have started winning again, they appear to be enjoying the winning feeling so much that they don’t want it to stop. Tonight, A’ja Wilson and the Aces will look to extend their win streak to 11 as they visit Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky. The Aces vs. Sky matchup is set for 8:00 p.m. ET, and it will be televised on NBA TV.</p>
<p>On July 25, the Aces (24-14) had 12 wins and were a game under .500 following a 31-point loss to the Minnesota Lynx. Since that time, they have doubled that win total while losing just once, with the last ten wins coming in a row. As a result, they now sit third in the <a href="/wnba/">WNBA</a> standings, a half-game behind the Atlanta Dream (24-13) and ahead of the Phoenix Mercury (22-14) and New York Liberty (22-15).</p>
<p>The Sky (9-27) are eliminated from the playoff race, but they have a chance to significantly affect how things shake out. Seven of Chicago’s final eight games are against teams in the playoff race, including three against Las Vegas.</p>
<p>It is slated to be a special night in Chicago, as future Hall of Famer Candace Parker will have her jersey retired tonight. Parker helped the Sky win their first WNBA title in 2021, then closed out her career in 2023 with the Aces, with whom she won a ring after missing the last few months of her final season due to injury.</p>

<p>On Thursday, the Sky shook up the playoff picture in a major way by upsetting the New York Liberty at Barclays Center.</p>
<p>It was just their second win since the WNBA All-Star break, and few would have seen it coming, including the Liberty.</p>
<p>Normal service resumed Saturday in a 94-84 loss to the Connecticut Sun at home, but if there is something positive to be taken from losing a game that they should have won, it’s that the Sky continue to be palatable to watch on offense with Angel Reese back in the lineup.</p>
<p>In the three games since Reese returned, the Sky have scored 88, 91, and 84 points. In the seven games she missed, Chicago averaged 66.7 PPG and registered a high of 78 points in a win over the Washington Mystics on August 5.</p>
<p>That is in line with what the Sky have done overall this season with and without Reese. In the 26 games she has played, Chicago has averaged 80.1 PPG. In the 10 games she has missed, they have averaged 65.1 PPG.</p>
<p>That bodes well for the Sky being able to put some points on the board tonight vs. the Aces, but whatever they do likely won’t be enough because they are a bad defensive team with or without Reese.</p>

<p>Entering tonight’s game, the Sky are 11<sup>th</sup> in the WNBA in scoring defense (86.4 PPG), one of four teams allowing 85 or more points per game.</p>
<p>With this being the first Aces vs. Sky matchup of the season, it is worth noting what Las Vegas had done against those other dreadful defensive teams. In 11 games against the Sun (85.3 PPG), Sparks (87.4 PPG), and Wings (88.5 PPG), the Aces have averaged 92.4 PPG. And during their 10-game win streak, the Aces have averaged 88.4 PPG and hit the 90+ point mark five times.</p>
<p>Another productive night for the Aces should come with another productive night for A’ja Wilson, who had 36 points and 13 rebounds in Saturday’s 91-81 win at Washington.</p>
<p>It was her fifth 30-point game in seven games and eighth double-double in the Aces’ win streak, and she will need more of the same if she is to stay hot on Napheesa Collier’s trail for WNBA MVP honors after Collier made a triumphant return to action with 32 points and nine rebounds last night against the Fever.</p>
<p>And while it likely won’t be enough for the Sky to pull the upset, expect another good night for Kamilla Cardoso. She has scored 14 or more points seven times in her last 11 games, including 18 in Saturday’s loss to the Sun.</p>
