<p>Following the Dallas Mavericks&#8217; come-from-behind win over the Oklahoma City Thunder last night, two spots in the NBA&#8217;s Final Four are now accounted for. The other two tickets will be punched today in Game 7s, starting with the New York Knicks hosting the Indiana Pacers this afternoon (3:30 pm ET, ABC).</p>
<p>The Pacers extended the series to a winner-take-all contest with a 116-103 win on Friday night. Pascal Siakam led the way with 25 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, and Myles Turner, Tyrese Haliburton, T.J. McConnell, and Andrew Nembhard each had 15+ points in the win.</p>
<p>It was the sixth straight win for a home team in this series, and it was the third straight double-digit final margin, following the Knicks&#8217; 121-91 won in Game 5 and the Pacers&#8217; 121-89 win in Game 4.</p>
<p>Will we see a close contest in today&#8217;s closeout game? Will the Pacers save their lone home win of the series for the best possible time? The majority of series-clinching wins thus far in the playoffs have not been close games.</p>

<p>Though the Knicks would have no doubt preferred to close out the series in Indianapolis, there&#8217;s no reason to feel panic ahead of today&#8217;s decisive duel.</p>
<p>Why? Few teams have been as good as the Knicks in responding to losses this season. With their Game 5 win at home, they are now 25-11 SU (69.4%) and 23-12-1 ATS (65.7%) in games following a loss. Only the Pacers (26-13-2, 66.7%) have a higher cover percentage in games after a loss, and only the Celtics, Timberwolves, and Nuggets have a higher win percentage in that scenario.</p>
<p>Also, the Knicks have been solid as a home favorite, going 29-7 SU (80.6%, 5th in the NBA) and 20-16 ATS (55.6%, 8th in the NBA).</p>
<p>Nothing that the Pacers bring to the table as a road underdog or in games after a win compares favorably, so trends point heavily towards the Knicks advancing to the Eastern Conference finals for the first time since 2000.</p>
<p>However, as a lover and welcomer of chaos, such a straightforward outcome makes top much sense. Therefore, logic is being punted out of the window and into the clouds in favor of choosing the chaotic outcome.</p>
