Indiana Pacers vs Memphis Grizzlies Picks

<p>After a winless five-game road trip, the Memphis Grizzlies are back home to close out January and open February, and the opposition couldn’t be much more favorable for a team in need of a streak-busting win, with the Indiana Pacers in town tonight and the Portland Trail Blazers visiting FedExForum on Wednesday.</p>
<p>First up, the Grizzlies (31-18, 20-3 home, 2nd in the Western Conference) will match up with the Pacers (24-27, 8-17 away, 9th in the Eastern Conference) today at 6:00 pm ET (5:00 pm CT).</p>
<p>Both Indiana and Portland have lost eight straight road games, so these next two games are games that Memphis will be expected to win and win comfortably. </p>

<h2 id="a9pj8">Pitiful Pacers Set to Struggle Again on the Road</h2>
<p>Much has been made of the Grizzlies’ confidence about their status in the Western Conference, but their 0-fer on the road against the Lakers, Suns, Kings, Warriors, and Timberwolves understandably elicited more than a few mocking comments on social media.</p>
<p>Fortunately, they are now back home and facing a team that’s in even more of a rut than they are. Indiana’s struggles without Tyrese Haliburton continued on Friday night with a 141-131 home loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.</p>
<p>The Pacers did quite well to trim a 33-point deficit to just seven, but it was yet another abject defensive showing, as they have given up at least 126 points in six of their last eight games.</p>
<p>Indiana very nearly managed to cover against Milwaukee, but in the end, they dropped to 1-8 SU and 2-7 ATS in this current nine-game stretch without Haliburton.</p>
<p>In this nine-game stretch, the Pacers are 0-5 SU and ATS on the road, and since a 111-108 win at Miami on December 23, Indiana is 1-7 ATS in their eight-game road losing streak.</p>
<p>Those numbers should be music to Memphis’s ears, especially given how outstanding the Grizzlies have been at home this season. In addition to their 20-3 SU home record, the Grizzlies are 14-8-1 ATS at home.</p>

<p>When Indiana and Memphis met in Indianapolis on January 14, the Grizzlies rolled 130-112, covering the spread as a 7.5-point favorite.</p>
<p>Look for a similar result tonight at FedExForum, where the Grizzlies have won a dozen games by double digits thus far this season and have scored more than 125 points seven times. </p>

<p>In the first meeting against the Pacers, Morant had 23 points and 10 assists in just 25 minutes, and he comes into this matchup with back-to-back double-digit assist games.</p>
<p>This isn’t available for great odds anywhere, and there’s a chance it could move to 10.5 before gametime. So, the sooner you grab it, the better.</p>
<p>That said, I still like it even at the available prices and even if it moves to 10.5 and given that he dropped ten times in a little over half of the game last time against Indiana, there’s some comfort in knowing that he won’t necessarily need to log heavy minutes for this bet to cash.</p>
