<p>A lot of NBA enthusiasts assumed that the Grizzlies were going to turn things around upon Ja Morant&#8217;s return from a 25-game suspension. That looked to be the case when Memphis won four straight games with Morant in the lineup, however, things have quickly changed since then.</p>
<p>The Grizzlies are now 1-4 SU in their last five games, which includes a 1-3 SU record in contests featuring their superstar point guard. What&#8217;s even more concerning is that three of Memphis&#8217; last four losses came by double-digit margins, including a pair of 30-point defeats.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, the Grizzlies also suffered a massive blowout loss the last time that they faced the Lakers on Nov. 14, falling 134-107 at crypto.com Arena. Even though Morant wasn&#8217;t present in the defeat, it&#8217;s worth noting that Taylor Jenkins&#8217; team has now lost four of their last five meetings with Los Angeles, leaving time to tell if tonight&#8217;s result will be any different.</p>

<p>In a game between two teams who desperately need the win, I&#8217;m <strong>taking the Lakers to stand tall</strong> at home. The Grizzlies have been putrid on the road and it&#8217;s clear that Morant&#8217;s presence alone isn&#8217;t enough to lift them out of the NBA&#8217;s cellar. With Los Angeles playing rock-solid defense at crypto.com Arena, I could see Memphis having issues keeping this one close if its shooters aren&#8217;t ready.</p>
<p>With that in mind, let&#8217;s also take the <strong>home team to cover the 4-point spread</strong>. Although the Lakers haven&#8217;t consistently <a href="/guides/moneyline-vs-spread-betting/\">covered the spread</a> this season, they have the pleasure of facing the Grizzlies, who are not only 0-5 ATS in their last five games, but also 0-6 ATS with a minus-17.2 average scoring margin in their last six road games against Los Angeles.</p>
