<p>After dropping the first two games of their series with the New York Yankees, the Chicago White Sox stepped up in a key moment on Saturday night to pick up a walk-off win. This afternoon, they will seek a series split in what stands to be a second straight pitchers’ duel.</p>
<p>This series started with the Yankees dominating White Sox pitching to the tune of eight home runs, 25 runs, and 29 hits. </p>
<p>Last night was a different story, as the AL East leaders were held without a run for the first seven innings by Dallas Keuchel and Kendall Graveman. The White Sox couldn’t keep them off of the scoreboard the entire night, but the home team would have the last laugh as Luis Robert’s walk-off single giving them a 3-2 win. </p>
<p>In today’s series finale, another low-scoring game could be in the cards. Nestor Cortes and Michael Kopech have been two of the league’s top pitchers so far this season and will be aiming to continue their early form this afternoon.</p>

<p>In three home starts, Kopech has allowed six hits and four runs (two earned) in 16 IP. He has allowed eight walks, which isn’t ideal, but opponents are hitting only .113 against him at Guaranteed Rate Field thus far.</p>
<p>Opponents are hitting .273 against Cortes in his three road starts, and he has given up 15 hits and five walks in 19 innings. But he has allowed only four runs (three earned), so he hasn’t gotten burned much yet.</p>
<p>Cortes has also been at his best in daytime games. In three daytime starts, he has struck out 31 and allowed only five hits, seven walks, and two runs in 18.2 innings. His last start was a daytime start against the Texas Rangers this past Sunday, in which he allowed one hit and four walks and struck out 11 in 7.1 shutout innings.</p>

<p>The Yankees have lost only one series all season, as they lost two of three at Baltimore in their third series of the season. Since then, they have won seven consecutive series. They can’t lose this one, but the value resides with the home team in this one. </p>
<p>Though they unraveled a bit in the first two games against the Yankees, the White Sox have largely gotten things together after dropping to 8-13 on May 1, winning eight of their last 11 games. And at or around plus odds and with Kopech on the hill, the White Sox are solid value to get the series split.</p>
<p>Cortes may come out on the short end here, but he will do his part to keep the under on track. And after recording eight, 12, and 11 strikeouts in his first three daytime starts, there’s a lot to love about the over for his strikeout total for today.</p>
<p>The White Sox average just over seven strikeouts per game and have the second-fewest strikeouts in the league. But the Rangers are fifth in fewest strikeouts, and his eight-strikeout game was against Cleveland, who has the fourth-fewest strikeouts. So, over 5.5 strikeouts, which is available at +114 at <a href="https://affiliates.bettingnews.com/register/betonline/">BetOnline</a>, is well worth the investment.</p>
