<p>The top 10 Georgia Bulldogs have a tough SEC matchup this weekend as they take on the Auburn Tigers. It&#8217;s been a character building season for Auburn so far this year as they started off with three straight wins before losing their first two conference games. Both were on the road, so hopefully in their SEC home opener the hosts can bring enough fire to keep up with one of the nation&#8217;s best teams. We&#8217;ve found our favorite picks as Auburn hosts Georgia this Saturday night.</p>

<p>Like I said, the Tigers have had their wheels fall off. They opened up with a thrilling victory on the road in Waco against the Baylor Bears, and followed it up with two straight blowouts at home over Ball State and South Alabama. Then SEC play started, and they went to Norman and to College Station. The Tigers competed in both games, having a chance to drive and beat Oklahoma (before failing to cover), and trailed Texas A&amp;M by just three points with 10 minutes to play. But Georgia is a different animal.</p>
<p>The Bulldogs already lost their one game this year. They survived against Tennessee on the road in their first real test, but Kirby Smart failed to beat Alabama&#8230; again. In a very tough SEC, things aren&#8217;t getting easier, especially as the Dawgs will likely face an undefeated top five Ole Miss team in Oxford next weekend. But after already suffering a loss, they have to come prepared this week, especially on the road in a conference where it just means more.</p>
<p>Will the Dawgs take down the Tigers and prove they are one of the country&#8217;s best? Or does Auburn play spoiler and get their first SEC win?</p>

<p>Even though this is a night game, this is one you wake up for. Auburn has dropped two straight conference games, this is their first real opponent in front of their own fans, and Hugh Freeze has played the role as spoiler before. I certainly think this game stays under, but would worry about the Bulldogs offense finding its groove later in the game.</p>
<p>Points might be at a premium early, so I&#8217;ll just take a first half bet.</p>

<h3>Georgia vs. Auburn Prediction: Georgia Wins and Covers, Under 46.5</h3>

<p>Now there is a book hanging 23.5 for three more cents of juice, so that&#8217;s the number I technically have in this contest. Give me a 10-7 Bulldog lead at half and we are perfect. I do not trust Auburn&#8217;s offense in this matchup, especially early on.</p>
<p>The Bulldogs defensive unit is one of the best in the country. Sure, in Athens against Alabama, we saw tons of points early with great defensive adjustments in the second half. The Bulldogs also allowed 21 points in the first quarter to Tennessee. But the Tigers&#8217; offense simply doesn&#8217;t compare to either of those teams. Against the Aggies defense (which is comparable to Georgia&#8217;s in my eyes), the Tigers managed just one first half field goal and less than 200 yards of offense throughout the whole game.</p>
<p>I think both offenses might start a little rusty, with defense being a priority on both sides of the ball. Laying the hook with Georgia on the road scares me a bit, especially since I think it will be a low scoring game anyways. The Baylor defense doesn&#8217;t compare to Georgia or Texas A&amp;M, so I&#8217;m not really worried about that 17 point first half performance in Waco.</p>
<p>Give me a snooze fest early.</p>
