The Diamondbacks and Braves square off for game 2 of this series down in Atlanta. This will be the 5th time these teams have played this season, with the full season series all tied up at two games a piece.

We’ve gone through all of the betting odds for tonight’s game and came up with our prediction and best bets.

Let’s break it down!

Diamondbacks vs Braves Season Recap

Like I said, these teams faced off in early June where the Braves took two of three from Arizona on the road. Last night in Truist Park, we saw a score between Arizona and Atlanta that could’ve been the Cardinals against the Falcons.

The Diamondbacks won an absolute shootout 16-13 thanks to a tying run in the top of the 8th, and the winning 3 runs in the 9th.

We saw 12 total runs before the Braves batted in the bottom of the 2nd. RIP to under bettors.

With the season series all tied up, the Braves toss out Charlie Morton looking for his 11th win of the season. Ryne Nelson starts for the Diamondbacks with a 5-5 record and a 4.98 ERA.

Can the Diamondbacks get some road revenge on the Braves? Or will Morton shutdown the Arizona batters at home?

Diamondbacks vs Braves Prediction & Best Bets

Diamondbacks Braves Prediction Best Bets July 19

Last night we saw 29 total runs between these two teams. The time before that they still combined for 13 runs. I lean with the over here but instead have decided to attack some player props instead.

When Morton pitched against the Snakes back in June, he went 7 innings and gave up 3 runs on 6 hits. He only walked two batters and struck out nine, but he still lost as the Braves only scored 2 runs in the game.

Nelson pitched for Arizona the next night and allowed the same amount of hits and runs as Morton, but in only 4.2 innings. He didn’t have a single strikeout and walked four batters as the Diamondbacks lost 5-2 at home.

Here’s where my money’s at.

Player Props

Christian Walker over 1.5 Bases (+125) Bovada

Diamondbacks Braves Prediction Best Bets July 19

This guy didn’t do anything against the Blue Jays in Arizona’s first series since the break, but he came alive last night. Walker went for 9 total bases on 2 home runs and a single.

He’s a streaky guy, especially on the road. Walker has hit his bases in back to back road games seven times this season, and after not doing anything in three games in Toronto, I think he might go back to back here.

He also rakes against righties, batting .268 overall, and .429 against Morton in 7 at bats. Walker has a single, a double, and a home run against Morton, plus three RBIs.

For +125, I’m willing to bet on Walker to get two bases tonight.

Sean Murphy over 1.5 Total Bases (+100) Bovada

Diamondbacks Braves Prediction Best Bets July 19

Murphy hits his bases at home more than he does on the road, and last night he went 1/4 with a two RBI double to cover this line. I’ll bet on him to do it against Nelson.

Last game facing this pitcher, Murphy went 2/3 with a single and a double. Although he smashes lefties, he still bats .279 against RHP and Nelson allows right-handed batters to knock him for nearly .300.

Like I said, I lean with the over, but I really like both of these guys to see two bases for their price.
