Kansans can rejoice, as they can finally bet on their beloved Kansas Jayhawks legally. Governor Laura Kelly signed bill SB84 in May of 2022, officially making sports betting legal within the State. It took a few months for things to get up and running, but by September 1st, 2022, Kansas Online Betting Sites were up and running in time for the start of the NFL Season.

Back in 2018, the United States Supreme Court repealed a law that had been in place for decades, thus lifting the federal ban on sports betting. States now had the power to decide and govern themselves regarding this industry.

It took several years, and many states got up and running quicker after the repeal. However Kansas, known as a conservative state, took their time and the law finally passed with a Democratic governor.

Today, Kansas is one of the 29 states that offer fully legal and regulated sports betting, and is one of the 24 that offer fully online sports gambling. Kansas Betting Restrictions

Kansas currently does not have any restrictions regarding sports betting. Users are welcome to bet on in-state college teams, in-game events, or college player props. Nearly anything users could imagine betting on is available through one of the many Kansas online betting sites.

Users near the states border, most likely residents of Kansas City, KS, will need to make sure their geolocation is turned on. They need to be physically located within the state in order to place their wagers.

Now, betting on horse races is legal in Kansas, even though no races actually happen within the state. Horse betting in Kansas is currently only available online at specific betting sites.

As stated, Kansas residents can place wagers on horse races, but may only do so online.
